Wlecome to the Preschool 1 Program

Hello and welcome to the Preschool 1 page! My name is Ms. Laura and I’ve been with Bright Beginnings since August 2008. I attended the University of Toledo and graduated with my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education and have my Ohio teaching license.
Each day, we start our morning with circle time and each child is given a job for the day. We also go over the calendar and review the days of the week, discuss the day’s weather and we also count the number of days in school by using straws. When we reach 100 days of school, we’ll have a special celebration! The rest of our morning is spent doing activities that tie into the weekly themes. We love making art projects and using our imagination. Another favorite is science, and we conduct several experiments that help us to further understand the ideas and concepts that we discuss during the week. We also love to utilize books and enjoy reading fun and exciting stories each day!
Our class is eager to learn lots of things this year and one big focus will be sharpening our fine motor skills and working on writing our names, drawing shapes, and cutting. We also will work on our letter and number recognition.
I am positive that Preschool 1 is going to have a great year and I am excited to share the year with them!
